Back in December of 2004, a small but dedicated group of passionate MetroStars fans (now known as The Charter Citizens) began meeting periodically to discuss the need and feasibility of starting another MetroStars fan club. They elected their first leader, "Chief Metro," launched their first version of this web site on February 21, 2005 (our "birthday"), and the rest is history.
An interesting page in our history was recently written when RedBull acquired the MetroStars on March 9, 2006. Our burgeoning fan club was faced with the challenges of preserving the valuable relationships we worked so hard to build with the Front Office and showing our solidarity with the new team and its new identity, as we did with the MetroStars.
After weeks of intense impassioned debate, discussion, and suspenseful voting among our members (a.k.a., Nationals), MetroNation has partially transformed itself to RagingBullNation on April 5, 2006 (our "re-birthday," if you will), with full transformation in the near future. With one successful inaugural 2005 season under the Red and Black stripes and crest, we are back to be a part of a historical new era for MLS soccer in the Tri-State area under the stripes and crest of the New York Red Bulls!
